***Cathy K is the winner!!!!****
I have been working on some fun stuff with a kit from Green Tangerines! They are having a huge two-month-long blog party with lots of creative hosts and over $1000 in prize giveaways!
So, it's my turn to be the hostess and I have some cards I made to share:
I am a huge fan of mixing colors and patterns, so I dove right in with mixing several of the yummy patterned papers from the kit to make this Kiss Hug card. One of my favorite things in the kit was this strip of polka-dotted fabric...I used it more than once!
I love this little October Afternoon monster...he looks like my youngest does when he wants to be picked up, which is what inspired this "hugs" card. And I used that cool fabric again...
I used my Fiskars Scalloped XL Seal of Approval, Large Mint Condition, and Medium Round 'n Round punches to make these flowers. The kit had a package of blue gems from Kaiser that I used to bling them up.
Here's another mixed-papers-lots-of-patterns card where I used the cool clock transparency and the custom-made circle embellishment that was in the kit. I added a kraft circle (Fiskars circle cutter) between the two pieces and used some more of the blue gems (I still have a bunch of those blue gems left over and I used a ton of them!). I don't know if you can tell, but I cut down some of the foam Thickers alphas to make the word "rock" because I wanted it to be a little smaller than the original alpha size. The "o" is the top part of a "g" and the "c" is the original "c" turned on its side and cut. The "r" was left alone and the "k" was just shortened on every side.
There's still enough product in this kit to make at least 193 (rough estimate) more cards (or some layouts! or a mini book!) and now I get to GIVE A KIT AWAY! Between now and 5pm PST (that's 7pm Texas time, or figure out your own time zone's deadline...) on Thursday, May 21, leave a comment and I will randomly choose a winner who will receive an awseome Green Tangerines kit with more than $50 worth of scrappy greatness in it! I'll post the winner's name tomorrow night, so check back.
As far as leaving a comment goes...just say "hi" OR tell me what your family's favorite movie to watch together is (we are looking to expand our movie choices around here!).
OH, and I almost forgot! If you visit the Green Tangerines blog, you'll have another chance to win a free kit!
So, to re-cap:
1. Leave a comment HERE to for a chance to win a free kit
2. Leave a comment at Green Tangerines for a second chance to win a free kit
Easy-peasey! (I have no idea how to spell that.)
Get going! :)

Love what you did with the cards. I really like the clock one. Would love to win a kit to scraplift your ideas.

I am a big Anne of Green Gables series fan. They are great family movies, but depending on your families age range, my mom and I also enjoy the Die Hard and Lethal Weapon series...we enjoy a vast range...lol!

Cute cards. Love the sewing. I've been sewing whenever I can since I bought a mini Janome sewing machine. Thanks for hostessing.
Since getting my computer and creating cards and lo's, I hardly watch movies anymore.
Hugs,

I love all of the things you came up with with the kit. I wish I had somewhere to put my sewing machine so I could sew on my pages...it adds the perfect touch. Great Stuff!

I love the mixture of paper and misc you put on the cards. I like to mix it up too. These cards are great -- you scrap "outside the box" too. We don't watch many movies--we're too busy playing games on our WII

I got over excited about the layouts, and the posting of comments that I didn't notice you were looking for movie ideas. Some movies that I can watch over and over again are : Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, if your kids are a bit older - School of Rock

I just came over from the Green Tangerines blog. So great to see what you did w/ the kit! Fabulous cards - love the way you used that fabric, especially!
Fave movie for my family would have to be the Shrek series. Funny jokes and animation, plus some cute pop culture references for us adults. We're really looking forward to seeing "Up!" this summer too (in ONE week!). Can't go wrong w/ a Pixar movie.
Thanks for the chance to win - and thanks for the inspiration! :)

Your work is so creative, happy and inspiring! Just loved the mix of patterns and colors, and you made me really wish I had a sewing machine to stitch on my paper, too! This kit looks like loads of fun to use. Our family enjoys The Princess Bride, Narnia (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), and a more recent fave, Despereaux.
Thanks for sharing!

Our favorite family movie lately has been Enchanted. My girls can't get enough of it, and watch it over and over again, lol. They know all the songs by heart, and I think so do I! And who could get tired of Patrick Demsey AKA McDreamy? lol
